Shaykh Ismail Kamdar

Islamic Self-help was founded by Shaykh Ismail Kamdar in April 2015. It was established as a platform to help Muslims gain knowledge that can assist them in personal and spiritual development through articles, books, and courses.

Shaykh Ismail Kamdar is a graduate of a traditional Alim program (Talimuddin, 2006) and also holds a Bachelor’s in Islamic Studies (IOU, 2014). He has studied Islam in both traditional and modern settings and has been a student of Islamic Studies for over two decades.

He began studying Islam full-time at the age of thirteen, began preaching at the age of sixteen, and wrote his first book at the age of twenty-three. Over the years, he has taught multiple courses and seminars around the world and has worked with multiple leading Islamic organizations across the globe.

He served as faculty manager at the International Open University for ten years, from 2010 to 2020. He also founded Izzah Academy in 2022. His books are currently available in three different languages, and sold across five continents, in twenty-five different countries.

In 2011, Shaykh Ismail discovered the importance of personal development and noticed a lack of Islamic literature dedicated to this field. After consuming dozens of books and courses on the topic, he started Islamic Self Help.

Shaykh Ismail is the author of Having Fun the Halal Way: Entertainment in Islam, Earning Barakah: A Guide to blessed sustenance, Best Of Creation: An Islamic Guide to Self-Confidence, and Productivity Principles of Umar II, among other titles.

Assalam Alaikum,

I sincerely hope you are doing well. I wanted to tell you to keep up the good work you are doing. You are filling a void in our Ummah. Merging Islamic studies with self-help, motivational and productive guides is something so many people can benefit from. With all the challenges today’s Muslims face we MUST find a way to be productive and balanced. I can tell from your writings you are influenced by some of the best productivity authors of our time. I also enjoy these subjects as I find them critical to running my businesses. I am currently involved in a Mastermind class for “The One Thing”. That is why I wanted to reach out to you. If there is anything I could ever do to help your in the good work you are doing please contact me. I would love to hear about your future plans and help you with your journey. So, if you ever need someone to bounce ideas off of or just someone who can help focusing on your goals, I am available. As-salaamu’alaykum wa rahmatu Allaah,

I would like to second the above first comment. The quality and content of the articles, books, courses, etc that you put out are of immense benefit and inspiration to the ummah. And we don’t come by the nature of your work often.
May Allaah swt keep you steadfast, and bless you/your family in this life and the next, ameen.
