A New Beginning for Islamic Self Help
I recently quit my job to focus fulltime on growing this website. This was not an easy decision. I spent months thinking, planning, strategizing, praying istikharah, and making shura with family, teachers, and elders. After a lot of deep thought and discussion, I pulled the trigger and resigned from my day job. This was one of the hardest and scariest decisions I have made in my life. For the first time in sixteen years, I am without a stable source of income, while expenses are at an all time high. But every prayer, every intuition, and every discussion all led to one conclusion: I need to do this now.
The truth is that I have not been able to put as much time and attention to writing and teaching in the past few years, as I have been distracted by office work. The work I was doing was important to the company I worked for, but it got in the way of my own dreams and goals. For many years, I sidelined my own goals and dreams, in exchange for a steady paycheck, and the result was soul-draining. I began to feel like a fake, wasting away my best years and talents on work that does not really make a difference in the world. The truth is that my soul needed this change. I need to focus on work that matters, so I have decided to make the big decision to focus full-time on Islamic Self Help and growing this platform.
Changes to stabilize the website
I have many exciting ideas for new courses and books, but I need the time and funding to focus on producing them. To ensure that I am able to focus on these, I have decided to make a big change to how the website works. Currently, we rely entirely on individual sales of courses and ebooks to cover our website maintenance costs. But that it is not enough if I want to focus on this fulltime. To bridge this gap, I am introducing a new paid subscription model for supporters of this website.
This model works as follows: in exchange of $15 a month or $160 a year, you will receive access to all our ebooks and online courses, as well as exclusive early access to future courses and ebooks. This means for just $15 a month, you will receive access to a library of over a dozen books and two dozen online courses, all designed to help you grow into the best version of yourself. We have a lot of exciting new content coming soon. We will continue to grow the Islam Intensive Program with even deeper dives with the Ethical Living course. We also will add another weekly ongoing program Tafsir Intensive in 2026 that will go on for as long as possible as we attempt an in-depth tafsir of the entire Qur’an over many years. Add to that, we have five self help short courses and five personal development ebooks currently under development. All of the above will be available to our supporters in due time.
The Future of Islamic Self Help
I am determined to focus on writing and teaching fulltime. To accomplish this, I need 400 supporters to sustain this website. Become a supporter here.
